For years I found the hardest part of taking photos was getting them off my camera. I hated removing the card, trying not to lose it, worrying about remembering to put it back in. When I saw the advert for the Eye Fi, I thought it was a joke. Surely it couldn't be that simple? Oh man, it is.

After an initial set up using the included card reader (which can be used for your old, backup non eye fi cards too), you toss the card into your camera and it works like magic. Eye will load your photos to a designated spot on your computer via your WiFi connection and send your photos to one of the major online processing sites... Shutterfly, MobileMe, Costco, Walmart, Picasa, Nik.... all are part of the game. The card has some amazing features to take advantage of as well... you can set it up to delete your oldest photos in order to get unlimited memory.... never run out of space on your card again.

Some notes - the set up requires probably 10mins. If your camera is older, you need to change the battery settings to auto shut down after a longer interval. Eye fi website shows you how to do this with all the big camera names.

As for support, I have had only one problem and it was resolved immediately by email support. Note - it was probably user error, not card error.

I bought this particular card because of the size. 8g is the minimum I wanted for my dSLR. However for my sisters, I bought the 4g for each of them last year (3 sisters) sine they all have cameras that do video too.

From a mom, not a professional photographer, let me assure you this makes a great present... something they will actually use and appreciate as a timesaver. This should be on every wedding and graduation and baby shower wishlist.

I ordered this SD Memory Card through Amazon from Portable Guy. I own an older Samsung Digital Camera (only 3.2MP)and the instructions state that it would hold "up-to" 256MB SD Card. When my order arrived, I found that Portable Guy had sent me a 512MB Card. I was doubtful that my camera would accept it. To my suprise, it worked fine. I had sent a seller feedback stating that they had got the order wrong, and they quickly and efficiently called me to rectify the situation. Since I was getting MORE memory for the price, I opted to retain the SD Card.
